If you have Booty Bay boots (from Booty bay fishing tournament) you can use them to get to Booty bay.

as of today doesn't work. the portal when you talk to thrallmar mage takes you to hellfire penninsula and not the blasted lands

For the horde only
Orgrimmar > portal to Undercity (located at the zeppelin's tower) > portal to hellfire peninsula > go through the dark portal and from there, easy peasy to Karazhan
For the alliance, I suppose something similar should be up

Wow. Thanks so much I never would have found this.
So for those that don't see the Thrallmar Mage in the portal room, u have 2 other options to get to Karazhan.
U can either try to find a mage player who is willing to open a teleport portal to Stonard for u, or finish this
"Return to Karazhan" quest line which rewards a teleportation ring (Violet Seal of the Grand Magus).
( Read other comments below the video as there are some more good suggestions how to get there!)
