The nature and processes caught up in encyclopaedism are designed in many established comedian (including instructive scientific discipline, physiological psychology, psychonomics, psychological feature sciences, and pedagogy), too as future comedian of cognition (e.g. with a common pertain in the topic of learning from safety events such as incidents/accidents,[7] or in collaborative eruditeness wellness systems[8]). Investigating in such comic has led to the designation of various sorts of education. For case, encyclopedism may occur as a effect of physiological condition, or conditioning, operant conditioning or as a event of more complex activities such as play, seen only in relatively rational animals.[9][10] Eruditeness may occur consciously or without conscious knowingness. Encyclopaedism that an dislike event can't be avoided or escaped may issue in a condition named learned helplessness.[11] There is show for human activity learning prenatally, in which habituation has been determined as early as 32 weeks into gestation, indicating that the basic anxious organization is sufficiently formed and fit for encyclopaedism and memory to occur very early in development.[12] Play has been approached by different theorists as a form of learning. Children research with the world, learn the rules, and learn to act through play. Lev Vygotsky agrees that play is pivotal for children's growth, since they make substance of their state of affairs through musical performance instructive games. For Vygotsky, yet, play is the first form of encyclopedism terminology and human activity, and the stage where a child begins to understand rules and symbols.[13] This has led to a view that encyclopaedism in organisms is ever related to semiosis,[14] and often associated with naturalistic systems/activity.

  1. I'm 24 and I want to start playing the violin. I've always been a fan of classical and baroque music and my goal is Bach's S and P's, but a lot of people I've asked said it's impossible for someone my age to learn that 🙁

  2. Would there be physical drawbacks in someone 66 years old to learn to play violin? I am concerned that it would be too difficult as my neck, shoulder and arm muscles are not as strong as they were when I was younger and I don't know if it would cause me any physical discomfort since I would have to hold the violin up for an hour a day to practice. But I love the violin and truly wish I could learn to play it! Thank you very much.

  3. I've wanted to learn the violin since I was 17 after doing an college assignment for Arts & Humanities. The strings, (the violins in particular) stood out to me. I am now 43 & I just purchased my first violin yesterday. I also got one for my 18 year old daughter, hoping to take lessons together. Being on a budget, getting private lessons isn't an option right now. I was very inspired to hear that is not too late to learn not only to play, but to play well. I do sing, so I do have a good ear for melody. Over the years, I have lose several octaves due to smoking, but I am able to find my range in any song, although I've never had any professional singing lessons. I'm hoping this will help me in my musical journey. Thank you for the inspiration, I have a great desire to learn & lots of time on my hands for practice, lol. Looking forward to growing in music!

  4. I'm about to start the violin. I'm already playing the guitar. Do you think that I'll learn the violin with less difficulty ? I'm sorry for my english

  5. I'm a little surprised that this video is as long as it is. Could have just been: "Is it too late to learn the violin? Nope!" Video done. It's never too late to learn anything!

  6. Hi Michael. I've started just recently to watch your videos and I really appreciate them. I'm 23 years old and I play violin since I was 16. I have some problems with playing because my hand is to small and I can't reach the fourth finger or do vibrato properly, and I have too much to do and violin is left aside. Anyway, I'm living in the UK now and I need a new violin urgently (there's been 4 months since I last played). I don't have too much to spend (£900). What do you recommend?

  7. You can definitely start on an electric violin. It does allow you to control the volume which is great. If your looking for some decently priced electric violins check out Superior Violin's website. There's a great model on there now that you might find you like that's on sale.

  8. I meant to reply to this, not sure what happened, so if I double post sorry. I really like Bryson Andres' style of playing. Do you think it would be okay for me to start on a Yamaha SV-130? Is there any reason why I shouldn't start electric? I think I will need something I can practice quietly so that would be a big benefit to this one. Next time I go back to the US "I'll have plenty of time there" I may try to shop around Nashville. It's close and seems like a good place to look for used models

  9. Can your arms be too big to play violin? I want to keep bodybuilding and compete, and I'm still pretty young and have a lot of years ahead of me to get bigger, and I'm wondering if I would eventually shoot myself in the foot and have to quit violin. I want to play an instrument and I really like the violin, karagum "가야금", and ahjaeng "아쟁". The latter uses a bow like a violin, pretty cool. Would like to here your opinion on the issue 🙂 thanks!

  10. for me it is never a bad time to play an instrument I started 6 months ago and i am 15. also, i am kind of inlove with my violin (Jerry) and i am planing to contineu playing and never give up on my beautiful instrument! 🙂

  11. Thank you for the awesome video! 😉
I'm 22, and I'm already a musician. I play Alto Sax since my 7 years old. Jazz, marches, famous themes from movies and other artists have always been the reality in the philharmonic orchestra where I played in Portugal.
Along the time, my interest for classical music grew stronger, and I started to want to learn violin. I'm now playing in a wind orchestra in Tokyo, where everyone is really good. I think the right time to start might be now! 🙂

  12. I started at 46….. my first instrument. Was hard not knowing how to read music but I'm getting there. Also teaching myself Ukulele (a lot easier ) and tin whistle.

  13. At the age of 54, I was told by a couple of my friends not to start, because it takes AT LEAST 20 years.

Then I realized that these guys were close friends of Ray Price, J.R. Chatwell, the original fiddler on "Cotton-Eyed Joe" and the like, so they were probably right, IF my goal was to play in Price's Fiddle Section.

But for jams, playing in my own band, & my own pleasure, it didn't apply. Four years of lessons put me on stage… just not Price's stage.

Too Old just depends on your goals.

  14. Like some others I also heard Lindsey and she changed my life. When I got back from Afghanistan I had a hard time really doing anything but when I heard her play I was inspired to start my life again. I picked up violin immediately. I started watching your videos and I learned to play ode to joy the first day. I have taken 5 formal lessons so far and I just learned the top gun anthem by ear today. thank you for the vids and for all of you that think its to late to start, I promise you are not.

  15. You have plenty of time to become professional. Some people have said that it takes 10,000 hours of practice to master a musical instrument. I think this might be somewhat true. So really you can start at any age and reach this goal. It certainly takes time though!

  16. I currently have 4 students over age 60 and 1 student that is 89! I actually find adult students learn much more efficiently and in less time compared to a child or teenager. I know a lot of people think it would be the opposite but it really isn't! If you put your mind to the violin you can certainly learn it.

  17. Thank you for this video! It is very inspiring to see. I've always wanted to learn the violin, but by the time I was old enough to start asking my parents about it, everyone told me I was too old, or it was too hard- basically a lot of discouragement. Nice reading other people's comments and how they are taking up their dream of learning the instrument.

  18. Thats the EXACT reason why I want to start… lol I'm 21 as well!! "it's a small world after all.." lol Linsdey Stirling is AH-mazing by far. Jealous you got to hear her live

  19. its quite normal that your strings break (by the way, the thickest is the g indeed 😀 ). Just dont give up and who knows what you will become!

  20. I'm 26 years old and have been playing guitar for almost 11 years. I told a co-worker of mine that I wanted to learn violin. She said" oh no your much to old for that you need to start young so you can get the fingering down and blah blah blah( at this point I just ignored her)"
Anyway I couldn't agree with you more.I got a violin, a book and started practicing. Within a week I was able to actually use the bow to make notes (and not scary screeching noises) so Thank you for posting this video.

  21. It is never too late. I´m 53 and I´m learning the violin for 2 months now. I´m in the first book of Susuki, (May song). The problem I find is how to find a gap in the day to practice at least one hour. If you are senior and doubt about begin or not, well, simply stop thinking about it and get your violin. The reward, in peace of mind, distraction, etc., is big. By the way, the Susuki method is fantastic.

  22. I'm 33 and last week brought a violin , and at my first online lesson , I broke the G string , the thickest one I think … Anyway I promised myself to learn even I break all the strings soon and that video was quite helpful really thx

  23. Great vid. I'll never understand what compels people to feel too old. You can do whatever you want. Age should never be a deterrent. Age should never be an excuse. Just do what you want and be happy. It's your life.

  24. I have 27 and I'm starting now with the violin! Thank you for this video and all the others! I found you now and I have subscribed. 🙂

  25. Your channel has been a God Send. I'm 27 and have just decided to finally after years and years of wanting to learn to play the violin to do it. So many people are telling me I'm too old

  26. aww thxs for the vid. im 20 and i felt a bit old. i use to play this for about a lil over 2 years when i was young and wanted to start it up again but was unsure. thx!
