Supreme Court says wrongful dying lawsuit towards Dallas officers can go ahead

DALLAS - The high court docket will permit a wrongful loss of life lawsuit to proceed in opposition to town of Dallas and four cops.

The household of a person who died in police custody in 2016 sued.

Tony Timpa referred to as police for assist as he had a drug and mental well being disaster.

The town fought towards releasing body digicam video and whit it did come out it was apparent why. It confirmed the officers mocking the dying man.

One had his knee on Timpa’s again and neck for nearly 15 minutes and the medical examiner said that contributed to his death.

The city of Dallas argued the officers are legally protected from lawsuits.

The Supreme Court docket upheld a federal appeals court docket’s ruling that will allow the case to proceed.

"The decision implies that the case can proceed to trial and that there will probably be no extra delays from any appellate court docket. Three years ago, the Dallas district attorney dropped criminal costs towards three of the officers.
