Speaking within the dugout of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler stated, "I don't plan on coming out for the anthem going forward till I feel better in regards to the route of our nation."

In a blog submit, Kapler questioned whether or not the country's leadership is committed to representing its people's finest interests and whether or not america is actually "the land of the free and the home of the courageous."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mother in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her children. They blocked mother and father attempting to arrange to charge in to cease the shooter, including a father who learned his daughter was murdered while he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians decide that the lobbyist and gun industries are more vital than our youngsters's freedom to go to highschool while not having bulletproof backpacks and lively shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he known as "the lack of delivery of the promise of what our nationwide anthem represents."

"I am not okay with the state of this nation. I want I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I want that I may have demonstrated what I discovered from my dad, that if you're dissatisfied along with your nation, you let it be recognized via protest. The home of the brave should encourage this."

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger action towards gun violence in the United States.

Kerr refused to talk about basketball ahead of Game 4 of the Warriors' collection against the Dallas Mavericks, as an alternative elevating his voice as he railed in opposition to gun violence within the wake of Tuesday's shooting.

"In the last 10 days, we have had elderly Black people killed in a supermarket in Buffalo, we've had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we've children murdered at school," Kerr told reporters at the beginning of the press conference.

"When are we going to do something? I am drained. I am so uninterested in getting up right here and providing condolences to the devastated families that are out there ... I am bored with the moments of silence. Sufficient."
