The family of an 11-year-old woman who survived the massacre at Robb Elementary Faculty in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday says the 4th grader played lifeless after the gunman entered her classroom.

Miah Cerrillo's aunt and godmother stated the 4th grader is struggling to cope and telling them what she witnessed during the taking pictures.

"Round midnight my sister-in-law called me and she was simply crying, like 'I feel it just hit Miah. I think all the things came to actuality now,'" mentioned Blanca Rivera.

Rivera stated Miah's teacher, Irma Garcia, was one of the two academics killed. Her buddies and classmates have been also focused.

Rivera mentioned that is when Miah went into survival mode.

"Miah obtained some blood and put it on herself so she could fake she was lifeless," said Rivera. "It's too much for me to play that scene over and over again, however that's what my sister-in-law stated is that she noticed her friend full of blood and she or he got blood and put it on herself."

Miah was injured but taken to the hospital and has been released.

"My brother said she had bullet fragments in her again," mentioned Rivera.

Rivera, a mother of three, mentioned the family is rallying around Miah to help her recover physically, emotionally and spiritually.

"At this level, we simply have to pray and ask God to help us transfer ahead through this example, I know it is traumatizing as it's," said Rivera.
