Teen arrested after mother seen son had gun at Texas college drop-off

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD/Grey News) - Several agencies responded to a center college in Texas Friday morning after a young person’s mom observed he was carrying a gun.
Police in Lubbock tell KCBD a mom was dropping off her 15-year-old son at O.L. Slaton Middle College around 9 a.m. when she noticed the firearm. The teen by no means made it contained in the building, and he ran from the varsity.
The Lubbock Police Division responded to the area along with a number of different businesses in an attempt to search out him.
The teen was discovered near the school’s campus and brought into custody.
Authorities mentioned the 15-year-old could possibly be dealing with a felony weapons charge.
Police say there was no threat made to the varsity or anyone inside the varsity.
O.L. Slaton Middle School was briefly placed on lockout because of the incident.
