Days after a minimum of 19 elementary school college students and two teachers were killed in a mass taking pictures at an elementary faculty in Uvalde, Texas, students at colleges across the country staged walkouts to protest gun violence.

"You see news each day about kids getting shot and folks your age dying and it's just incredibly unhappy and unbelievable, especially to see like children youthful and youngsters my age," Janoff instructed ABC News. "I cant think about that being me; however it is imaginable as a result of it occurs so typically."

The 17 year-old says her faculty's administration was in support of the walkout and she or he hopes the over 200 deliberate demonstrations throughout the country ship a transparent message that students are a "united entrance."

A walkout could not necessarily change legislation, Janoff mentioned, but these actions show "college students are nonetheless united on this."

She mentioned that though most students aren't old enough to vote, they still wish to see change and are prepared to take measures to have their voices heard in politics.

"College students don't must be quiet about it just because they're a kid," Janoff said.
