Mike Tyson will not face prices in altercation with JetBlue passenger, district legal professional says

A California district lawyer declined to file fees Tuesday against former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson after he was recorded on video in a physical altercation with one other passenger on a JetBlue flight.

San Mateo County District Lawyer Steve Wagstaffe made the choice after having reviewed police studies and movies of the April 20 incident. Each the passenger, who has not been recognized, and Tyson requested that no expenses be filed.

"Yesterday afternoon the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Workplace concluded its overview of the case involving Mike Tyson at the San Francisco Airport on April 20, 2022 and the allegation that he committed a misdemeanor battery in opposition to one other passenger on an airplane whereas waiting at the terminal previous to departure," Wagstaffe mentioned in a statement.

Cellphone video showed Tyson, 55, showing to attempt to punch somebody who was pushing him away. Representatives for Tyson said the person was harassing Tyson. The video did not show what happened earlier than the altercation.

David Chesnoff, Richard Schonfeld and Martin Sabelli, attorneys for Tyson, responded to the choice to not file costs by thanking Wagstaffe, the San Mateo County sheriff and regulation enforcement businesses "for his or her careful, diligent, and professional work."
