BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A person was arrested Friday after multiple signs saying "school shooter" had been present in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Division of Safety announced. Guy Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces multiple costs.

An increased amount of police officers had been placed at colleges in the communities on account of the indicators. Multiple schools initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.

Hanson allegedly positioned the indicators across the communities, the Department of Security said, but they determined there isn't any credible risk presently.

One such signal was written on a paper plate. The security division released a photograph of the plate but blurred part of it "to protect the integrity of the investigation." 

Hanson was arrested on a felony cost of legal threatening and three misdemeanor costs including false report back to legislation enforcement, false public alarm and prison threatening. He is being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a listening to scheduled for Tuesday.

No different suspects have been charged presently.
