Israel won't launch a felony investigation into the killing of the US-Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Aqleh, which Palestinian officials and witnesses have blamed on Israeli soldiers.

In a statement launched on Thursday, the Israel Defense Forces claimed that as a result of Abu Aqleh was killed in an “energetic combat situation”, an immediate prison investigation would not be launched, although an “operational inquiry” would proceed.
