Speaking in the dugout of the Nice American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler stated, "I do not plan on popping out for the anthem going ahead till I feel better about the route of our country."
In a weblog post, Kapler questioned whether the country's management is committed to representing its people's best interests and whether the United States is really "the land of the free and the home of the brave.""We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he known as "the lack of supply of the promise of what our nationwide anthem represents."
"I'm not okay with the state of this nation. I wish I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I wish that I might have demonstrated what I learned from my dad, that once you're dissatisfied along with your nation, you let or not it's recognized by means of protest. The house of the brave should encourage this."
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger action against gun violence in the US.Kerr refused to discuss basketball ahead of Sport 4 of the Warriors' collection in opposition to the Dallas Mavericks, as an alternative elevating his voice as he railed towards gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's capturing.
"Within the final 10 days, we have had aged Black individuals killed in a grocery store in Buffalo, we've had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we've got kids murdered at school," Kerr informed reporters in the beginning of the press convention.
"When are we going to do something? I'm drained. I am so uninterested in getting up right here and providing condolences to the devastated households that are on the market ... I'm bored with the moments of silence. Enough."
